INTERNATIONAL ACTION
The name Interact comes from combining "INTERnational" and "ACTion". The program was launched by Rotary International in 1962, aiming to give girls and boys aged 12 to 18 a place to develop leadership skills and discover the value of serving selflessly — years before Rotaract was created for young adults.
Every Interact club is chartered under the sponsorship of a Rotary (or Rotaract) club, which appoints an Interact advisor to support its growth. A club can be school-based or community-based, and runs at least two projects a year: one benefiting the school or community, the other promoting international understanding.

A NETWORK SUPPORTING THE CLUBS
Supporting every Interact club is, first and foremost, its Interact advisor, but also a wider system of sponsor clubs, mentors and — at district level — the Interact district: the same geographic area as Rotaract District 2050. The district gives voice to individual clubs, helps them grow, and promotes Interact within the Rotary family, providing training and support in line with Rotary's youth protection rules.
Collaboration between Rotaract and Interact in our district is coordinated by the Rotaract Interact Delegate, a role designed to facilitate cooperation between the two generations of the Rotary family and preserve its associative continuity.
