Rotary and Rotaract have always set the development of professional skills, and the promotion of values such as respect for others' rights and support for the local community, as their primary goals.

At the heart of this is the idea of service: the activities carried out by Rotaract are not mere charity, but involve acting on the ground. As the unofficial motto puts it: "Friendship through service".

The District's real function is to strengthen and support its clubs.

Rotaract District 2050

District 2050 was founded in 1968, initially as District 184. It was born alongside today's Districts 2041 and 2042.

District 2050 is made up of around thirty clubs and covers all of southern Lombardy and the province of Piacenza. Specifically, it is divided into 4 zones:

  1. Francigena: covers the provinces of Lodi, Piacenza and part of the province of Cremona
  2. Leonessa: covers the province of Brescia
  3. Navigli: covers part of the province of Milan and the province of Pavia
  4. Padana: covers the province of Mantua and part of the province of Cremona

Each zone is led by a Zone Delegate, whose task is to coordinate the activities carried out jointly by the clubs under their guidance.

The District Representative stands at the head of the entire district; however, given the size of the area covered by our District 2050, the District Representative needs to be supported by a district executive, by committees, and by zone delegates. Specifically, the district executive is the team chosen by the R.R.D. and acts as their right hand.

Committees are led by a chair and carry forward projects in specific areas consistent with Rotary International's avenues of service.

During the Rotary year, the district organizes the so-called district assemblies — gatherings aimed at member training and at promoting fellowship. District assemblies consist of district sessions, during which various topics related to service activities are covered, followed by a dinner, during which members of the various clubs have the opportunity to get to know each other better and build possible working relationships. Two other important events are SIDE (the Informational Seminar for Elected Officers) and the Handover Ceremony, which marks the end of the Rotary year.
